Gallup in their StrengthsFinder and StrengthsFinder 2.0 publications asks the question,
“DO YOU HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO DO WHAT YOU DO BEST EVERY DAY?”
That question is a laser that cuts deeply and exposes reality. Don’t run from this question, answer it honestly. If the person closest to you in your life was to answer it for you, what would they say about your Professional Life?
The symptoms of not being able to answer this question are:
1. You dread going to work
2. You have more negative than positive interactions with your colleagues
3. You treat your customers poorly
4. You tell your friends and family what a miserable company you work for
5. You achieve less on a daily basis and feel like you are wasting your life
6. You have fewer positive and creative moments that you know you should
7. You feel No Passion and that you are working for nothing more than a paycheck
Most of us have little sense of our talents and strengths, much less the ability to build our lives around them. Instead, guided by our parents, by our teachers, by our managers, and by psychology's fascination with pathology, we become experts in our weaknesses and spend our lives trying to repair these flaws, while our strengths lie dormant and neglected.
To experience Purpose, Passion and Performance in you Professional Life you have to start by discovering Evidence of your Unique Design and Strengths!
L.S.I. uses two basic Forensic Discovery Tests as the foundation of our Professional Coaching programs. We believe that discovering your hardwired natural strengths is only one part of determining your Professional Path. How you do something is just as important as what you do. Great Talent and Strength that are not supported by equally great character is Evidence waiting to be Contaminated and ultimately disqualified
Look around you at Bernie Maddolf, Michael Miliken, Tiger Woods. There are countless other examples. Doing the most outstanding feats of Strength and reaching the pinnacle of professional success means nothing if it is not supported by character. It is a skyscraper waiting to implode.
An integral part of what we do in the L.S.I. Discovery seminars and programs is to use a variety of Forensic Discovery Tests and profiles. Two of those tests are the Gallup StrengthsFinder 2.0 and the Values in Action (VIA) profile:
The Gallup StrengthsFinder 2.0 is based on a Gallup study of over two million people who have excelled in their careers. The StrengthsFinder 2.0 will help you discover your distinct talents and strengths. The product of a 25 year, multimillion-dollar effort to identify the most prevalent human talents, the StrengthsFinder program introduces 34 talents or "themes" and reveals how they can best be translated into personal and career success.
The V.I.A. (Values in Action) focuses on 24 Character Strengths which are found in everyone. These Character Strengths are values that are necessary to guide, support and develop the natural hardwired Talents and Strengths you will discover in the StrengthsFinder and throughout the entire L.S.I. Forensic Discovery Process.
